Nussbaumer Digital Editions is an independent creative studio and digital publisher based in Riehen near Basel.

We develop and publish multimedia digital content and support artists in delivering digital projects—providing practical technology and IT consulting from the initial idea through to implementation.

We create and publish multimedia digital content—from interactive storytelling, gamification, and game design to sophisticated literary and editorial writing—in close collaboration with artists, authors, musicians, and cultural institutions. We support digital projects end to end, from the initial idea through concept development, narrative design, and technical implementation to digital release—for our own productions and selected commissions.

As a studio, we understand storytelling not merely as a technique, but as a cultural practice. Our projects combine artistic research, narrative experimentation, and editorial responsibility. We work deliberately across media and develop formats that use digital technologies thoughtfully and meaningfully.

Riehen, on the edge of Basel, is shaped by a vibrant arts and culture landscape. The proximity to museums and exhibition spaces—such as the world-renowned Fondation Beyeler—influences our work, as does our international exchange with partners and artists from the tri-border region and across Europe.
